The Department has an established college of Physical Education located at Ganderbal.The College offers one year’s BPED course.The yearly intake capacity of the course is 90,out of which 70 candidates having got outstanding sports career are taken as direct trainees after their selection is made by a constituent committee and the rest 20 seats are reserved for the departmental Physical Education Teachers who qualify as graduates and are deputed for the said training strictly as per their seniority position.Since the college has adequate infrastructure available in the shape of grounds ,library,Residential hostels separately for boys and girls ,yoga Hall ,gymnasium Hall ,Canteen and Mess facilities ,Instructors quarters ,Warden quarter ,Principal’s residential complex ,store facilities etc.and has a capacity of running an additional course.

The Department feels that in order to open adequate avenues for higher studies in respect of its Physical Education Teachers and Masters ,two year’s MPED (Master’s Degree in Physical Education ) has been introduced in the said college .
