Purchases of Sports Material / Incentives . The department has a scheme for purchase of sports gear at District level . This equipment is being distributed among student community for promotion and development of sports . Similar purchases are made at State level also which is being provided for use by the student players at National level . Scholarships @ Rs. 175/- per month per head for 10 months is being paid for participation at the National level and Rs. 1000/- per month per head for 10 months is paid to 1st ,2nd and 3rd rank holders at National level . During 2009-10 about Rs. 19 laks have been provided to the sports persons who have participated at National level or achieved excellence at National level . Orientation courses and Scouting camp was organized for newly appointed Physical Education Teachers . 15 days Off season coaching camp of District Srinagar in the events of Cricket ( Boys and Girls ) Football ( Boys ) ,Hockey ( Boys ) and Kho- Kho ( Boys and Girls ) presently in progress in Jammu . The Youth Hostel Patnitop under the control of Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K provides accommodation to the students who are deployed for various camps besides accommodation for the people who visit the tourist spot of Patnitop against the payment of rent prescribed by Ministry of Youth Affairs Govt. of India . Adm.Block of Directorate of YS&Sports Wazir Bagh Srinagar Youth Hostel Srinagar The Youth Hostel Srinagar has a capacity of housing about 500 inmates . Accommodation for the students who take part in different games and sports at district , division and state level activities and also during National Level Sports Activities is being provided in the said hostel. Accommodation for private parties is also being provided against the rent charges as prescribed by the Government ( Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports GOI) . |
